FIRST IMPRESSIONS

▶ VISUAL.
▷ See here! The first thing anyone notices from Ishmael right away is her mane of orange-red hair -- it's long (like past her knee), thick, and wavy, usually adorned with a rope headband with white bows at the side. Her eyes are a murky hazel, and she has a sun-kissed, freckled complexion with plenty of scars hidden away beneath her clothing, no matter the ID.
▶ FASHION.
▷ As seen above, Ishmael wears her LCB uniform in a pretty straightforward way, save for a coat that is torn at the waist, cutting off the last two letters of her name. She always lets her hair loose regardless of the situation, but she would sometimes tie it back in a ponytail. The rope hairband never leaves her head, except in some Mirror worlds (alternate universes). Style-wise, she usually dresses very plainly, favoring cardigans, overcoats, jackets, sweaters - she tends to cover up most of the time.
▶ DEMEANOR.
▷ Straight-laced and dependable. She expects efficiency and rational decision-making from everyone else, especially her higher-ups. Because of this, she comes off as standoffish and aloof on the onset, but she is capable of smiling genuinely and giving credit where it's due - people just need to prove themselves to her first.

▷ Sure...? Even though striking up a romance with someone from the hellhole that is the City isn't really ideal due to her own hangups, but fwbs/one-night stands are more than fine, crosscanon or otherwise. F/F and F/M are both preferred, 21+. As for canonmates, I really like her with Heathcliff, but other Sinners could be fun to mush together too. I prioritize player/character chemistry above all else, though; if we click in terms of writing I can cook anything with her CR, tbh. Just let me know!

▷ Ishmael has severe PTSD regarding the Great Lake of U Corp (other bodies of water should be fine, it's just that That Sea in particular is bad news for her), and the eponymous Whale that devoured all of her fellow sailors and ship at sea. She also has a certain trauma when it comes to people sacrificing themselves for the so-called "greater good". On top of that, her backstory contains suicidal ideation, emotional manipulation, gaslighting, torture, death, and aquatic horror. ishmael's suit is done irezumi-style; both her shoulders, and upper part of her back and breasts are inked black, going all the way down to her wrists with an accompanying intricate clover pattern. and yes, this is supposed to evoke the same tattoos she'd gotten in her kurokumo clan identity, which is a canon AU where she's a yakuza captain. she often covers her arms up anyway, but there's no hiding them once she's fully exposed to the elements or if she chooses to wear shorter sleeves.

as of april 2025, as punishment for taking a glimpse of the heart, ishmael will be penalized with a comeback of her more obsessive traits. though instead of the more violent yandere way, she'd have extreme feelings of infatuation(?) towards people instead. like when her suit acts up she becomes more clingy and hyperfocused on anyone who manages to get her attention that day, she literally couldn't stop thinking of them until she reaches out, she would lowkey stalk them, etc.
