Back home, me and my coworkers can be revived from death. I can't tell you the exact details how because of NDA, but that's where my kneejerk reactions usually come from since we can just beat each other to a pulp knowing that our deaths won't stick.
Honestly… I figured. But if you hadn't mentioned it was part of your contract, I'd have just continued assuming cheating death was a regular thing in the City.
I only mention this because Miss Gebura has been openly blasé about having died before. So LILITH's coincidentally rounded up those of you that have?
I... think so. Her group were supposed to be not only dead ages ago, but also out of bounds from the City. They were kicked out to the Outskirts because of the whole Library fiasco.
It's just weird, the more I think about it. But I guess I should be lucky that I'm able to live long enough to get out there and find my purpose, right?
It's hard for me to talk about in detail. Sorry about this tangent. The point I was trying to make was that the people from the City think the way we do because of our experiences. We may have gone through different horrible things, but the City just... encourages it, I guess. And getting to know other people here made me realize that it could've been a lot better. We just got the shortest end of the stick, is all.

But if it seemed like I was judging you, I wasn't. It was more an observation. When you've got people from all over, there's no guessing what circumstances they must've come from. Only… you've gotta adjust some time.
You can teach an old dog new tricks! You just have to be persistent enough. Sure, the City encouraged certain behaviours and you guys got the short stick there, but I'd like to think this place is different—at least, until it proves otherwise. Even then, not living life while we can sounds like a recipe for regret, doesn't it?
Time, huh. I don't even know how much time we have in this world before we get yoinked out before we know it...
But I know I'm being pessimistic again. It has been fun, living my life the way I could never have dreamed of back home. It's the same case for you too, isn't it?
Exactly why you gotta be a little annoying sometimes. I've been here for less, yet there's already been so many people that have passed me by. You can't befriend everyone, but doing so halfheartedly isn't the answer, either.
