I thought I had it rough with my boss, but you guys are seriously dealing with something else…
Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if my comment actually did bruise his ego. [ he did protest and seem taken aback… hm… ] But please don't tell me he goes around telling people regularly how petty he is.
I... don't think he's that kind of guy unless you really, *really* pissed him off. And trust me when I say that I've seen him being pushed to his limit before, and it wasn't pretty.
[ rip don quixote. ]
But yeah, that's a meritocracy for you. I'd say you'd gotten off pretty easily so far, considering how you keep trying to befriend the red Colors without getting your head lopped off.
Not everyone's as chatty as you, you know. I would've hated it if someone were to strike up a conversation with me when I'm trying to sleep during the flight...
Anyway, knowing is half the battle. So please don't embarrass yourself in front of my boss next time.
This isn't about her, this is about you. And please, don't act as if you haven't nosed your way into these types of situations before. Need I remind you of a certain party you threw out of the blue?
[ sorry... she's never going to let that go............. ]
Well, hopefully you'll be able to talk it out with the parties involved — without slamming Vergilius, that is, because I just know it's going to come bite me in the ass somehow.
And you deserve some peace too, I guess. Wings know how much we need it more than ever rn.
Nah, this was something I was gonna do before you even told me about their situation. The Vergilius thing was just something that I've been meaning to talk to you about for a while now that happened to be related; there's really nothing going on between us, and everyone around us should know. If he can't believe it, that's on him and them.
He is pretty funny though. In ways. Sorry in advance! I make no promises.
[ especially now that he knows about?? him and malkuth?? wowie his thoughts are going 100km/sec. ]
… Unless you being nice is harbinger for you taking me out yourself before I can start righting any wrongs, then we might have a problem.
You're just lucky Vergilius and I aren't allowed to kill people here........ Especially now we know that LILITH would've reprimanded people with more than just a slap on the wrist.
Just... don't tell this to the other people from the City. Not that it matters here, but I'm already breaching contract just bringing this up.
Back home, me and my coworkers can be revived from death. I can't tell you the exact details how because of NDA, but that's where my kneejerk reactions usually come from since we can just beat each other to a pulp knowing that our deaths won't stick.
Honestly… I figured. But if you hadn't mentioned it was part of your contract, I'd have just continued assuming cheating death was a regular thing in the City.
I only mention this because Miss Gebura has been openly blasé about having died before. So LILITH's coincidentally rounded up those of you that have?
I... think so. Her group were supposed to be not only dead ages ago, but also out of bounds from the City. They were kicked out to the Outskirts because of the whole Library fiasco.
It's just weird, the more I think about it. But I guess I should be lucky that I'm able to live long enough to get out there and find my purpose, right?
It's hard for me to talk about in detail. Sorry about this tangent. The point I was trying to make was that the people from the City think the way we do because of our experiences. We may have gone through different horrible things, but the City just... encourages it, I guess. And getting to know other people here made me realize that it could've been a lot better. We just got the shortest end of the stick, is all.

As for Gebura, I'm not sure where her title came from, but from what I can gather with how she fights...
[ spraying everything with a certain red mist......... get it ]

Next thing I know he pulls an axe out on me sooooo… not exactly keening for a round two.

And it's also because of your attitude, but you're already aware of that.

But yeah, I was perfectly civil until he started airing his grudges. Good to know why now, though.

But good talk.
Now to figure out my plan of attack or to just wing it. The latter's seemingly infinitely more likely.

But why? Are you that hung up on Malkuth?

Yesod seems to think I am, though. Which is the bigger problem.

And what do you mean by keep. This is the first time this has happened to me since getting here?

No excuse! Life's more fun rolling with the punches.
At least, I know about it now. I'm not going to let it get more out of hand than it already is.

Even Miss Gebura's warmed up to me 😊
You guys gotta relax with those hair trigger impulses!

Besides, it's all we've ever known and... [ sigh ] I guess you deserve to know this one tidbit about me.

What would that be?
